For him, the natural and beautiful wood grain, as well as the unimaginable hand feel, naturally give him a sense of pleasure. 

And he also hopes to integrate the pleasure generated by the beauty of wood grain into his design and convey it to users. He is designer Zhang Fei.

Q:  From a design perspective, your work has a minimalist style. Have you been influenced by Japanese designers? 

What is your view on Japanese minimalist design?

A: The minimalist style may be the reason why I have always liked Nordic minimalism, and what has had the greatest impact on 

me is Dieter Rams' Ten Principles of Design. The most influential factor for me among Japanese designers is Naoto Fukasawa's intuitive design.

I think Japan's minimalist design is also indirectly influenced by the Western minimalist design. The Japanese minimalist design 

has both details and traditional elements, which is in line with the aesthetic preferences of Easterners. 

The attention to detail in Japanese design is worthy of our learning and respect.

Q: Why do you like to use natural wood as creative material?

A: Before being used as a material, wood had life. Wood itself has natural and extremely beautiful patterns, 

which many materials cannot compare to. In addition, wood has a super good tactile sensation.

Liking wood was a long time ago and has been going on ever since. As a designer,

 my love for wood is genuine. I love wood and even took the risk to establish a small woodworking factory myself.

Q: At present, your works mainly focus on household items. 

Have you considered developing into "big items" and tried designing furniture?

A: At present, the products I am designing are mainly household items. I think I will try larger products, 

but there are many limitations in the factory's production at the moment. I am already trying to make some large products for my studio to use, etc. 

I want to release some large furniture when the time is ripe. But small products are also very interesting, and I will continue to design small products.

The lively curves of fish have an irresistible charm. Writing with a pen, but unexpectedly fitting. 

After more than three years of meticulous adjustments, a perfect combination of tactile sensation and charm has been achieved. 

Our lives and work are full of noise and restlessness. The clear, transparent, and clean sound quality of the music box can make people quiet. 

This was a designer's accidental experience and the main reason why he decided to design a wooden music box. 

At the Shanghai DOD exhibition, when the designer saw many expressionless adults touching this piece of wood and hearing this sound again, 

the corners of their mouths widened and a smile appeared. The first batch will launch two styles, 

runway shaped and rectangular. A series currently being crowdfunded is the "Wooden House" music box.
